ChatGPT vs. a Custom Business AI System
"Why would I pay someone to build AI when I already have ChatGPT?" It is a fair question. General-purpose assistants are useful. They are also a different kind of tool.
The difference
A general-purpose AI assistant responds to individual prompts from an individual person. A custom business AI system can be connected to authorized company information, workflows, databases, business rules, and existing software — and can do its work as part of the operation.
General AI: one prompt
An employee asks: "Help me write an estimate." The quality depends on what that employee remembers to paste in.
